In the case of micro atx, they use the same screw orientation as full atx boards, but with less screws due to the size of the board itself. Be sure to leave the spare screw standoff pins in there because they are easy to lose.
Usually, The case should allready have screw/stand off holes preset for several motherboards.

As long as it's not a proprietary case, you'll be fine. Many Dells, Gateways and other name brands have some models that have a proprietary screw pattern in their power supplies, just to force you to buy your replacement PSU from them. Yes you do because the motherboard is designed to be in one of these cases and if you get an AT Case and stick an ATX motherboard in it you would find it does not fit its like giving an car insides a body of a double decker bus!
