I have a shuttle pc case and want to know if i can put any micro atx motherboard in it.Can i put any micro atx motherboard in a shuttle case?
it depends on the particular case really, but as shuttle make small cases only, i would imagine so.Can i put any micro atx motherboard in a shuttle case?
hi mate
it depends on the size of your shuttle case however since shuttle cases come in several sizes the only real way to check the dimensions of your shuttle case( length x width x depth ) and then check the length and width with the m-atx motherboard you want and if the motherboard is the same or smaller in size youll be fine
however since micro-atx motherboards are all the same it will more than likely be ok and will fit in your shuttle case
also check the back plate to be sure it will be ok with the motherboards rear ports and much like atx motherboard also make sure the shuttles leads are compatible with the power on and power led pins on the motherboard
its all about measurements, double check and then triple check......yourll be fine !
good luck mate !
Check with the manufacturer OR if you have the microATX board, open the shuttle case up and see if you can align the motherboard holes with the holes drilled in the chassis plate.
I also have another idea if you have a small hand drill with some drill bits...know what I am thinking?
Get the microatx mobo, then carefully align it to the chassis in back so that the back connectors align. THen, take a black felt tip pin, and mark the holes on the motherboard to the chassis plate. Drill the holes. You want to make the holes SMALLER than the brass standoffs, so you could use a cheap set of calipers to determine the exact drill bit. You can get a cheap set of calipers in most hardware stores if you don't have one, or use a hole sizer instead. The reason why you want to use smaller holes is because you don't have the screw end of the standoff tapped in the case holes... Its really pretty simple. You could use some rubber grommets to make sure that the board is isolated from the chassis so you don't short the mobo out by contact with the chassis. It should be easy to install the standoffs if the holes are smaller than the diameter of the standoff screws.
