Basically I have a ATX case that currently has a pentium 3 processor and supporting motherboard, i wanna take out that board and put in the LGA 775 motherboard wit a Pentium D processor, I basically wanna keep the case and throughout the board and processor is it possible for me to do that or would I have to get a new case? Can a LGA 775 motherboard fit in a ATX case that houses a intel pentium 3 processor motherboard?
There shouldn't be any problem as long as the motherboard you have is the same size, i.e. ATX. The only thing that may pose as a problem is the design and construction of your case. I've had some computers where their case design was pretty bad, sometimes they'd screw the hard drive on both sides and its impossible to unscrew the other side, especially when the other side is non-removable. If you don't encounter these sorts of minor problems, then you could very well use your old case, if not, you can buy a new one.Can a LGA 775 motherboard fit in a ATX case that houses a intel pentium 3 processor motherboard?
yes as long as is atx
Yes you can, an ATX form factor mobo will fit in any ATX mid %26amp; full tower.
as long as your LGA 775 compatible board is ATX as well.
chances are that it is
not too many boards are BTX.
and plus, 775 is fairly new and almost all motherboards i've seen with that socket is ATX
